Eve Chenu

I love the process of transforming unformed clay into a functional object. There is opportunity for endless refinement in how I move to shape the clay, and at the end of the process how the piece is comfortable to hold and use. The 3-dimensional piece also becomes a canvas for texture, color and design exploration. This is exemplified in my recent bird series, which are hand painted on wheel-thrown porcelain mugs or larger stoneware vessels.
