As with all of our gatherings, EVERYONE is welcome! You do not need to be a member of GACA to attend.
Greater Austin Clay Artists is excited to continue our new Clay Mixer series — a monthly meetup bringing clay artists together to socialize, share ideas, and explore local community studios around Austin. Each mixer has a theme, but the heart of the event is about connecting with fellow ceramic artists and celebrating our creative community.
Our next Clay Mixer will be Friday, August 22nd, 6:30-8:30pm, at Asmbly Makerspace! Join us for conversation, community, and a casual potluck of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to share.
The topic for this month’s Mixer will be Raku and Mixed Media Work. Asmbly will have a live Raku firing demonstration led by an instructor, so you can see the process up close, ask questions, and learn how it works. They'll also feature a CNC demo where attendees can design their own drape mold, which will be cut from MDF for folks to take home with them. Come see what Asmbly’s collaborative ceramics space has to offer, ask questions, and get to know other local makers passionate about clay.
