Carly Blankenship with CB Clay creates functional, hand-thrown items using mid-fire clay and food-safe glazes.  Once her most dreaded part of the process, glazing has now become her favorite and most time-consuming piece of the puzzle. She decorates her pieces by outlining patterns with masking tape. Once the glaze is applied, she peels off the tape to create crisp lines of bare clay, leaving a very satisfying texture and design.
