After many years with commercial glazes, bin fired ceramics gives me a space to let nature run its course. The soft terra sigilatta surface becomes imbued with natural carbon black, soft tonal greys, botanical prints, oceanic blues, burnt brown, and a bright fire-cleaned white. This process lets me make a portrait of fire in a moment of time.
