My way as a potter started 7 years ago in Japan where I was amazed and inspired by Japanese aesthetics and ceramic art. There I learnt about the great importance of this special moment when you hold ceramic piece in your hands, feel it's weight, feel how smooth, rough, soft, cool or sharp the surface is. I realised that through tactile sensations, objects reveal much more than through appearance alone. In my work I enjoy playing with different textures and contrasting surfaces through which my piece can speak to the person who will hold it.
